Overview

Bates Architects is excited to announce the recent grand opening of the new Common Market located on Seventh Street of Frederick, MD. The design of this building incorporated environmentally friendly “green features,” such as the electrical car charging stations, the addition of natural lighting by expanding existing windows, introduction of new window openings, increased building envelop efficiencies and the replacement of all lighting and mechanical systems with more energy efficient systems. The 48,000 square foot project not only houses the new food grocery store, but a café’ for shoppers enjoyment, bulk food and pet product departments as well as the Coop’s main warehouse and corporate offices.
