Bates Architects Presents at ACE Mentor Program
Bates Architects had the honor of an invitation from ACE Mentor Program of America‘s Frederick Chapter to speak to both careers in Architecture, but also give a deep dive and tour of recently complete Frederick Book Arts Center (FBAC) in Downtown Frederick. The space located at 127 S Carroll Street, Frederick is focused on teaching the public about the ‘art of the book’ and the craft and technology that has been evolving to create books. The space features not only a lecture area/gallery, but dark room, lithography lab, silk screen printing, typography templates, and book binding station. Learn more about the mission of FBAC here: https://lnkd.in/eStq2F-q Forrest Popkin with BA has made similar presentations to younger audiences about architecture was able to create a presentation to FBAC’s history, building design challenges, and the highlights of the finished project. ACE’s mission is to help high school students learn about careers in architecture, construction, engineering and related professions. Special thanks to Frederick Book Arts Center for allowing us to use the facility for the presentation and encouraging the students to tour.
