City of Frederick Hotel & Conference Center, Trolley Building Renovation, and the Banyan Building

The big day arrived for the kick off of the City of Frederick Hotel & Conference Center, the Trolley Building Renovation at 200 East Patrick Street and the Banyan Building (the old Eagles Building) at 206 East Patrick Street. In place of the traditional dignitaries turning a shovel of dirt, the projects kicked off with a big bang! The walls came tumbling down on the old Frederick News Post press building. The event was well attended by State and local elected officials, other dignitaries, and members of the community. BA is the Architect of Record for the renovation of the Trolley Building, where the old newspaper press building will be removed to make way for the Hotel and Conference Center. The remaining older portion of the Trolley Building, which housed the Frederick Railroad Terminal in the 1800’s, will be converted to a home for future restaurants, retailers and business offices. BA will be submitting to the City of Frederick Historic Preservation Commission in the early spring of 2025, followed by building permits for the exterior and interior renovations.
